About
The mission of Mala-I-Tolo Indigenous Guardianship Trust (MiTIGT) is to operationalize the Mala-I-Tolo Declaration and the notion of the restorative economy in Malaita's high places. An aspect of MiTIGT is to appeal via educational support for high schoolers through Tolo learning hubs. This learning model will emphasize Indigenous values and their engagement in the future of the island and its people alongside the latest technological tools. This support will aim to build a modern, capable workforce that is grounded in culture and place but who can lead and participate in the new restorative economy of the Solomon Islands. There will be continued engagement with schools, high-school students, the Malaita Youth Council provincial government, selected communities, thought leaders, and educators in Malaita.
